Returns & exchanges

What happens when a garment does not fit, and the difference between a size problem and a fault.

Publication status

Draft. There is no online ordering, so there is no statutory online return window in force yet. The studio practice below is what we actually do today; the online policy will be published, with an approved window and a named process, before the live store opens.

Studio purchases today

Bought at the Indiranagar studio and it does not work at home? Bring it back unworn and unwashed with the tag on, and we will exchange it for another size or another style. We would much rather you left with something you wear than with something that stays folded.

For anything cut or altered to your measurements, we can adjust the alteration but cannot exchange the garment — that is the trade-off of having it fitted.

Fit problems versus faults

These are handled differently, and it is worth knowing which one you have.

  • A fit problem is a garment made correctly that is wrong for you. It is exchanged. Read the measurement table on the product page before you buy — on a relaxed cut, comparing against a garment you already own beats guessing from a size letter.
  • A fault is a seam that fails, a button that pulls through the cloth, a zip that separates, or a dye that runs when washed as instructed. Bring it in whenever it happens. A fault is not a returns question — we repair or replace it, and there is no expiry on that for a manufacturing defect.

Fair wear is not a fault

Linen softens and creases. Organic cotton fades gently. Bamboo viscose pills a little where a bag strap rubs. None of these are defects, and we say so on the product pages rather than letting you find out at the counter. What we will do about all three is mend the garment — see how repair works.

Hygiene exceptions

Innerwear and anything worn next to the skin cannot be exchanged once the seal is broken, for reasons that need no explanation.

Before you buy

The cheapest return is the one that never happens. Use the size and fit guide, and if you are still unsure, ask us — we will tell you which size the sample garment actually corresponds to, and we will tell you if we think a piece is wrong for what you have described.
